Online Infertility Counseling
You have made the bold and exciting decision to build your family. However, it has proven to be more difficult than you imagined it would be.
You are anxious. You are sad. You feel like a failure. You are tired. You feel insecure. You loathe your body. You dread sex with your partner. Your relationship with your partner is strained. You are preoccupied-no, you are obsessed with your ovulation calendar. You are confused. You are overwhelmed. You are scared. You feel grief. You feel a loss. You are hopeless but hopeful at the same time. You feel alone. You are embarrassed. You feel shame. You feel jealous. You feel envious.
These feelings are normal because you are currently experiencing a life crisis: you cannot fulfill your dreams of building a family.
Infertility is not your fault.
Infertility is a medical problem. And, contrary to how you may feel, you are not alone. Did you know that 1 in 8 couples (or 12% of married women) have trouble getting pregnant or sustaining a pregnancy? (2006-2010 National Survey of Family Growth, CDC).
How can fertility counseling help me?
“She was unstoppable, not because she did not have failures or doubts, but because she continued on despite them.”
– Beau Taplin
During your fertility journey, talking to those close to you-your family, friends, co-workers, can feel awkward. Their supportive suggestions may be filled with good intentions, they may also unintentionally prompt feelings of shame, jealousy, irritability, frustration, or feeling misunderstood.
Talking with a Therapist can help.
It helped me. I struggled with primary and secondary infertility. We used IVF to conceive my son after three years of failed less invasive attempts (nutrition changes, acupuncture, chiropractic work, TIC, and IUI).
Therapy allowed me to feel my feelings, deal with my feelings, and heal in a judgment-free place.
Therapy will help you…

- Explore family building options (adoption, 3rd party reproduction)
- Explore and support you through infertility treatments (TIC, IUI, IVF)
- Process your feelings of grief and loss during this process.
