Good Faith Estimate
A new consumer protection law called “The No Surprises Act” went into effect on January 1, 2022. Here’s the notice I have to give you about the law:
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost.
Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services.
You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit cms.gov/nosurprises.
Insurance
I accept the following Insurance Plans: UnitedHealthcare, Oxford Health Plans, Cigna, Aetna, UMR, Oscar, UHC Student Resources, AllSavers UHC, Harvard Pilgrim
If you have a PPO insurance plan, you can likely see me as an out-of-network provider. I am happy to provide you with a receipt that is in compliance with insurance so that you can request reimbursement for your services. Please contact your insurance provider to determine specifics of your coverage. I do not guarantee that you will be reimbursed by your insurance or benefits for teletherapy as each plan and policy is different.
You can also consider using your flex spending account (associated with your primary insurance) or a health savings account (HSA) to cover your psychotherapy fees. Please confirm with these accounts to verify the ability to pay for individual therapy.
Policies
Late Cancellations and Missed Therapy Appointments
I understand that things come up and you may be unable to attend your scheduled appointment. I have a 12 hour late cancellation policy. That means that if you do not attend your scheduled appointment, and have not notified me within 12 hours of the appointment, you will be charged the full $140 cost of the session.
During our first appointment, I will ask for your credit card information. This card will be charged for late cancellations or missed sessions.
